Artist Statement

My work raises many social, political, environmental and women’s issues. Often I am inspired by various events around me, whether it is something that I have personally experienced or witnessed. The idea came through as I was reading books, browsing through social media, keeping myself updated with the news on newspapers, etc. All these processes were then compiled through woodcut, etching, watercolour drawings and sometimes coloured pencils.

I usually reflect on the things that I see, understanding the situation and the conditions that occur around us before starting my art practices. I utilise my art and other works as a medium to present opinions and record events that work as a reminder or message that will generate discussions.
