Ketemu Project
"Creating a socially conscious & inclusive world with art and creativity."
Established in 2014, Ketemu Project is a creative organization fronted by a dynamic team of artists, cultural managers and curators. "Ketemu" in Indonesian means to "meet" or "encounter". This brings out the spirit of connecting people and initiating conversations - activities that are at the heart of Ketemu's programs.
Ketemu's main aim is to facilitate social interaction between artists, designers and cultural professionals, with local communities through art and creative activities. The organization places a strong focus on interactivity and process in creating works of art with civic life.
We divided our program into two interconnected programs which are Art Projects and Residency, where we also conduct talks and discussion events. The Projects that we initiate are a response to the social issues that are critical in civil society. Each project will involve a creation process that brings out new perspectives. In the Residency Program we facilitate residents to get right in touch with communities, materials and knowledge unique to Bali. As a platform for innovation and research in art and culture, our residency program aims to create new networks and opportunities for collaboration between the local and international talents. Residents will have an opportunity to present their creation or findings in at least one public event, typically Ketemu Aja!
