Ruang MES 56

Established in Yogyakarta in 2002 by a group of artists, Ruang MES 56 is a non-profit institution that functions as a production laboratory for photo-based art that emphasizes an exploratory and experimental approach, both conceptually and contextually. With a mission to develop local contemporary art discourse and visual culture, Ruang Mes 56 also optimize art networks in the Southeast Asia region through several programs and activities such as residencies and discussions, exhibitions and various interdisciplinary art projects.
